We will talk about and practice a few basic self-defense techniques that can be used with no prior experience of any kind. Please wear clothing and shoes in which you can move easily; we will remove all jewelry, watches, etc. before starting, so you might not want to wear these at all. The lesson is meant to be instructive and useful, but we also want to have a lot of fun. There will be something for all ages and abilities.
Anyone can join in at any time as we will always spend some time going over basics. Can never have enough of those! Lessons will build to some extent and there will be new content from time to time.
To ensure everyone’s comfort, enjoyment and safety, we must enforce a limit of 10 students per session. Please arrive a few minutes early.
Your instructor, Karin Fuog, has been training in martial arts for more than 14 years, earning her fourth degree black belt in Karate, as well as some Judo, Aikido and Ju-Jitsu. Karin has taught in several dojos as well as running a dojo in Kentucky. When teaching self-defense, she emphasizes first learning to analyze the situation, then applying appropriate technique, and finally, practicing the will to execute technique.
