President’s Report: January 21, 2009
The weather gods/goddesses have seen fit to bless us with consecutive
snow storms on the last two Sundays but that did not deter our hale and
hearty membership from showing up to support two wonderful lay led
services. The first was by Sue Imhoff on Being the Light We Want to see in
the World and how it is up to each of us to make a difference. Chas Bicking
shared his profound experiences in the Civil Rights Movement and helped us
celebrate Martin Luther King Day in last Sunday’s service.
Next Sunday we have Lynn Batchelder leading a service that brings science
and religion together to look at the unpredictability of the future. And
speaking of the future, we have our Mid-Year Congregational Meeting after this service and we
have an important decision to make about OUR future as a community and congregation. A letter
was e-mailed to all last Saturday and I hope you can spend a few minutes going through it to get
a idea of our choices. More details will be offered at the meeting. If you have not received that
Congregational Letter, please contact president@uuandover.org and I will get one to you either by
e-mail or regular mail.
Hope to see you on this coming Sunday.
