President’s Report: March 18, 2009
On Saturday, March 28th, 6:30 p.m. we will begin our Canvass or Pledge process with a social get together at Locke Street to enjoy some good food, music and companionship. We hope to get as many together as possible to enjoy an evening of fellowship before the sometimes arduous process of financial stewardship begins. Please let us know if you are coming. There will be a table set up after service next Sunday or you can email me to confirm your place at the table. We are asking for a small donation of $ 7.50 each to cover the cost of the food.
The process to solicit your pledge will be a little different this year. You will have the choice to hand in your pledge, ask for a phone ‘visit’ or have an actual visit by a canvasser. Details will be explained both at the dinner on the 28th and at the following Stewardship Sunday service on the 29th of March. We hope to finish the pledge in a timely manner as our plans to hire a part-time minister are somewhat contingent on your response to the Pledge Drive. We are all dealing with
this economy in our own ways but I hope you will consider what this community has meant to you over the months and years. We are a resilient bunch as witnessed by how we came together this year to not only survive but to start prospering again. Our plans for next year are worthy of your support and we hope you can be generous.
