Turning down Locke Street one day in 2008 was one of the best “wrong” turns of my life. Driving the back roads to Andover center, I accidentally turned right onto Locke Street and noticed the charming building that is hime to UUCiA.
As a lapsed Catholic, I had been longing for the sense of community that being part of a church congregation so uniquely provides. I decided to make note that services were at 10:30 each Sunday morning and returned a few days later. It’s felt like home ever since.
Talk about a loving, welcoming, accepting group of people – so many of whom I have grown to love. I sing in the choir, participate in social justice activities, and even enjoy doing some light committee work. Best of all, I get to grow spiritually, see friends each week, and watch the amazing children gain insights and wisdom as they turn into caring, open-minded individuals with an appreciation for all faiths.
If you’re looking for a fun group of people who make you feel safe, give us a try. And we generally have amazing bread each Sunday with coffee after service (thanks to David G.)!
